Welcome Letter from the Director
Welcome to Somerhill Kids Education Services!
Since 2019, our goal has been to bring hope to remote villages. What started as a small relief effort has grown into a beacon of empowerment for children and families. We believe that by educating our youth and training our women in sustainable agriculture and crafts, we can break the cycle of poverty.
Thank you for joining hands with us to build stronger, more self-reliant communities.
— Director & Founder: Armstrong

Our History
Founded in 2019 as a community welfare rescue program, Somerhill started as a direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic. A dedicated team of 3 women and 1 man noticed extreme hardships faced by vulnerable women and children. They stepped in to provide emergency food relief and basic care. This small initiative quickly grew into a registered CBO, creating a lasting system of community rescue, child education, and economic empowerment.
Programs & Services
Community Outreach: We support marginalized populations with agricultural training (subsistence farming), village savings, and youth empowerment.
Child Rescue Program: We identify highly vulnerable and orphaned children, providing them with safe shelter, basic needs, and access to our school.
Vocational Skills Training
We equip women and youth with practical skills like tailoring, sustainable farming, and handicraft making. These skills allow community members to start small businesses, save money, and feed their families, creating long-term financial independence.
Hear from the Voices of Our Community
· A 10-year-old student: "I love coming to Somerhill. Here, I have friends, I learn how to read, and I feel safe."
A mother and local farmer: "The agricultural training changed my life. I now grow enough food to sell, and I can pay for my children’s daily needs."
A community volunteer: "Seeing the youth learn practical skills gives me hope. We are teaching them how to build their own futures."
A local youth: "Before the savings program, I had no direction. Now, I have business skills and the confidence to start my own small shop."
